   What is truly important!

A Gentleman open the door for a Lady

Is it the desire to gain material things society has suddenly acquired, which we use to carve pedestals, purposed to be idolised on. Is it the notion of ‘survival of the fittest’, which takes full effect as we care only for our individual selves and could not be bothered to even consider anyone or anything.

A Lady needs a Knight

The principles of “Humanity” is clearly etched out in every civilisation, yet the notion encompassing Humanity, ‘umuntu ngimuntu ngabantu’, is discarded with the greatest ease. Have we regressed to the antics of a time, long before, the age of the Australopithecus, where a barbaric, testosterone/oestrogen fuelled society sought a path to progress, as they rid themselves of such mediocrity, doth ‘survival of the fittest’ such a cult that, its claws still trap us in its dismal customs that are “contra bones mores”.

People, now-a-days, would rather resort to antics of theft, fraud – basically crime, in a heartbeat, without the slightest of hesitation but, would however, ponder, for weeks on end – if not months or years, contemplating why there is a need for them to “engage” in anything with origins from nobility.

A Genlteman lets a Lady through first

On the other hand on could argue, that our political and high-end figures, live with ‘tooth and nail’, fending for only themselves, doing whatever necessary, good or bad, to enrich themselves, a common trend in the country. Furthermore, they constantly bombard the youth with senseless comments, supposedly meant to inform us how privileged we are to be living in the so-called times, where all is accessibly and jut on the edge of our finger tips. They forget the pressures that lie on our shoulders, as they continually contribute to this load, with their lack purpose as they are only good at criticism but, dismal when action is involved.

A Lady trusts her Knight

They need to stop consuming their supposed elixirs and heed Mr Regal’s line, “live with Chivalry”, and then embrace it.

The time has arrived, where, importance, should go hand in hand with Chivalry. We should act with intellect, good heart and perseverance. So we can truly be adorn the characteristic, “Lady” or “Gentlemen”, and reflect this through all we do.
