Perception In Not My Identity - The Image Inspired Upon You

Why is it possible that one is born to greatness in God yet they live a simple life.

Greatness is often spoilt by perception.
Perception is effectively the image one has of one's self in their lives. This picture or image, shapes how you perceive life.
Perception is often far from the potential that has been instilled with in us by the Lord.
Perception is often the remarks or ideas from ordinary people who cannot see the light that shines bright within.
Their words cling onto you like mucus and sputum on a child's face.
With little resistance one soon sniffs and licks it into their being.
This poison then starts to defile and cloud one's identity leaving the individual rather ordinary. Resulting in one selling one's self short, lowering ambitions and expectations that were once great in an effort to fit in.

Substituting your identity for perception does not necessarily mean one will not be soaked with success, nor does it mean that one will not achieve their dreams.

However, substituting identity for perception does mean that one is without their ordained identity. In fact, you - yourself, have become a stranger to yourself. A spade never regards itself as a hammer, and even if it could do the job, it would never reach its potential in totality.
If ones has the wrong image of themselves, they could achieve their goals but, never fully realize their potential.
Identity is knowing what you are capable of in totality and the degree of this potential. Thus when one's dreams, desires and goals come to pass, the blessing is exceedingly, abundantly, above all. So much that it will overflow and then one will realize the true purpose of these dreams, desires and goals.
The potential one has in totality is fully functional and the ripple-effect is that this will be beneficiary to more than just the individual. After all dreams, desires and goals are meant to be shared.

Our identity as written in Genesis 1v26:
"26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”"
This merely confirms that one is capable of achieving far beyond all.
Identity means one knows who he or she is in God, who he or she is in the world and one's destiny.
When one begins to praise and worship God, it begins to change them. The Lord speaks by means of images, and he inspires the right image for one to identify themselves by. Mathew 16v 13-20:
"13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ."
The Lord gives Peter his identity, no longer referring to him as Simon-Peter but instead as Peter - the Rock, on which the Lord will build his church on. What is also of significant is how Peter recognizes  the Lord's presence and how he responds to the Lord. The Lord smiles with favour upon those who honour him.

Remember that a dream is but just a dream, that any sole can realize if adequate effort is put in, however, a dream that has identity and is inspired by the Lord above, has the power to transform, to create, to nourish, to raise expectations, to make a way and to love.
